Is swapping my test date allowed?
Yes. You're simply changing your own DVSA booking to a different date. DVSA allows you to change your test date yourself, and Swapurtest helps you find someone whose situation is the opposite of yours. We never access DVSA systems on your behalf.
How does the swap actually work?
You list your current test date and the dates you'd accept instead. We match you with someone who wants your date and has one you want. Once both of you confirm, you each call DVSA on 0300 200 1122 to change your date to the agreed slot.
What if my match doesn't call DVSA?
That's why we encourage you to coordinate with your match before calling. Exchange contact details (shared after confirmation) and agree a time to both call DVSA together so neither party loses their slot.
How long does matching take?
It depends on how many listings match your criteria. We search instantly when you list, and re-check every time a new listing is added. You'll get an email the moment a match appears.
Can I cancel my listing?
Yes — you can cancel anytime from your dashboard before a match is confirmed. Once a swap is confirmed by both parties, cancellation isn't possible through Swapurtest.
What test centres are covered?
All 318 UK practical driving test centres are covered. When you list, you can also accept swaps at up to 2 nearby centres to widen your chances.
What if I never get matched?
Nothing — it costs you nothing. Listing is free, so there's zero risk. Your listing stays active until your test date passes.
How do I contact DVSA to complete the swap?
Call 0300 200 1122, press 2 for practical driving test, then 1 to change your test date. Have your booking reference ready. Lines are open Mon–Fri 8am–4pm.
